‘During the build-up to our wedding, my wife Emma and I spent a heck of a lot of time searching for musicians. We wanted music at various stages of our wedding day, a soloist or small ensemble to play during the bridal procession, a pianist to play quietly during the wedding breakfast meal, and evening band to get the party started and a DJ to keep us partying into the small hours of the morning.
During the marathon session of searching various web links, reading reviews, checking prices and going to listen to the artist’s gigs or concerts, we decided that it would be a great idea to have everything in one place and to utilise an expert’s knowledge. It was at this point that we decided to give it a go ourselves.
I started to play the piano from the age of 6 and can now play a number of different instruments including piano, saxophone(s), guitar, bass, drums and vocals. As well as my degree in Music I am also a qualified teacher for GCSE and A-Level students and have been organising events, concerts and gigs for the past 10 years as a result.
Through my teaching experience I have played in numerous jazz bands, wind bands, orchestras, choirs, and soul and funk bands. During this time I have also trained secondary teaching Music staff and have a lot of contacts with various government music services. This has enabled me to make a lot of contacts with professional musicians as soloist, small ensembles and larger bands, all of whom have gigging experience to a very high standard.
Emma and I have a passion for the whole wedding day experience and hope that you will allow us to help develop the entertainment experience for all of your guests by using Spoke Weddings.’
